In 2021, for the first time in history, Italy is hosting the G20. The Youth 20 (Y20) is the official youth engagement group of the G20 and it is the platform that allows young people to express their visions and ideas to the Heads of State and Government of the G20.
Y20 is a discussion platform that the Young Ambassadors Society contributed to create ten years ago and from which a series of agreed recommendations related to the G20 agenda are compiled into a joint communiqué, which represents the point of view of the youth on the G20 priorities. The Y20 communiqué is the result of several months of work done by the delegates that culminates in the Y20 Summit.
Y20 Italy 2021 is chaired by the Young Ambassadors Society, in collaboration with the G20 Italian Presidency.
The Young Ambassadors Society (YAS) is the official partner of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Italian Government for the youth engagement groups of the G20 and G7 Summits. YAS was founded in 2011 by Alberta Pelino with the goal of empowering young people and to make their voices heard. YAS is committed to put young people at the heart of decision-making by building a bridge between youth and global political institutions.
Together with a global network of international associations, YAS is one of the founding members of the Y20 and Y7 that are the G20 and G7 official engagement groups for young people. As chair of the Y20 2021, YAS is also working with the G20 Italian Presidency and ministerial working groups to bring youth voices and perspectives to the G20 on issues related to health, education, economic development, innovation and culture.
At YAS, we strongly believe in the unique potential of young people and their importance in playing an active role in the creation of a more sustainable and innovative environment for future generations. We are always looking for determined people who with their creative ideas and dreams can help us find new ways of giving voice to the youth. If you are motivated to join our team, contact us!
More than 80 international young delegates will take part to the event.
